Chapter 13

Meadow

Today was my last visit to the doctor before I gave birth to my son. I wanted to make him a junior, but Gage refused to give our son his name. He claimed it was cursed with all the bad luck he had had over the last year. The doctor told us I was two centimeters, and I should be giving birth within the next few days if I kept dilating. Gage was happy as hell and I was too. We lost two babies and God blessed us again. We left out the doctor’s office, and I followed him to IHOP because I was hungry as hell.

“Hello. Welcome to IHOP. What can I get for you guys?” the waiter asked. He took our orders and came back a few minutes later with our drinks.

“Are you ready babe?”

“I don’t know Gage. Every day it’s getting closer and closer to the due date. I want to have a natural birth with no meds but then again after watching the baby channel it looks painful.”

“Whatever you decide, I’ll be there the entire time. If I haven’t told you before I’m going to say it now.”

“What?” She looked at me confused.

“Thank you for giving me a son.”

“You’re thanking me. I should be thanking you for squirting inside me and trusting me to carry your baby. I honestly didn’t think I was going to make it.” I felt my eyes getting watery.

“Meadow, what happened to you wasn’t because of natural causes due to an issue with your body. We both know how you lost them and this time none of that even played a factor. I knew in my heart you would carry full term. God took our other two angels because he knew the atmosphere was fucked up at the time. Baby, you are going to deliver my son fine, and if you let me, I’m letting off more babies in you.” I grinned and smacked his arm.

“I’m serious Meadow. I still want you to be my wife. Can a nigga come home?”

“You are home Gage.”

“Yea, but I haven’t had no pussy or been allowed to sleep in the same room as you.”

“Yes baby, you can come home. Mommy misses you too.” He leaned over and kissed my lips, and I felt butterflies in my stomach. I loved everything about him. He had been staying in the guest room, and I wouldn’t dare sleep with him. I hear him handling himself at night instead of going out to sleep with another woman but that was his fault. We finished our food and of course I took some food to go.

“I’m hopping in the shower Gage.
